I like the sea: we understand one another. It is always yearning, sighing for something it cannot have; and so am I.

These illustrations were a lot of fun to do, and I always love getting to draw landscapes, especially if they have anything to do with the ocean.

I’ve been coaxing myself into independence because loneliness scares me a lot. The idea of living alone and coming home to no one and being truly independent is riveting yet terrifying at the same time. I didn’t think I could handle growing up and getting old - maturing. But there’s going to come a time where the petty bullshit of everyday high school is going to mean absolutely nothing, and small talk will become the norm. People will be temporary and we won’t be confined to the same atmosphere every single day. We can do whatever we want. And for a long time I couldn’t wait for the day but now it scares me shitless. And in that period of transition from dependence to independence (kind of) I’ve realized I am no where near ready to live on my own and to not count on anyone to be there for me — emotionally or physically. And of course you will say “you can always visit home, you’re never really alone” but there’s always the possibility that you will be, and that is only amplified as you get older. How does that not scare you
